An insecure, put-upon florist's clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills.

The Plant (Audrey II)
Puppet. An anthropomorphic cross between a Venus flytrap and an avocado, the plant has an appetite for human flesh that is appeased by Seymour. Puppeteer doubles as other sizes of the plant.

An actor/vocalist located offstage. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart 'villain.' A funky Rhythm and Blues voice is best but open to original takes as well.

“Little Shop of Horrors,” written by the award winning team of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, is a Broadway cult classic that combines elements of horror, comedy, and romance. The story follows Seymour Krelborn, a down-on-his-luck florist’s assistant, who discovers a mysterious plant with a penchant for human flesh. As the plant, named Audrey II, grows and demands more, Seymour’s life spirals into chaos and comedy.
February 2025, guests will have the extraordinary opportunity to indulge in a sumptuous high tea while being captivated by the whimsical and darkly comedic tale of a carnivorous plant and its unsuspecting owner in this immersive "in the round" intimate production.
413 Rep is excited to produce its first musical at the Grand Tea Room after 10 years of sold out play performances.
-AUDITION APPOINTMENTS-
Non-equity, in person auditions will take place by appointment Monday November 4th and Wednesday November 6th from 6:30pm - 9:00pm.
-AUDITION REQUIREMENTS-
Actors ages 18-99 are invited to audition. At audition please bring (1) a printed current headshot, (2) a theater resume and (3) prepared to sing a one minute selection from a Broadway Musical Show. We will provide a speaker with MP3/Cellphone accompaniment only. No acapella or accompanist provided.

-CALLBACKS-
By request only. Callbacks will take place Monday November 11th from 6:30pm - 9:30pm at the Grand Tea Room. Those selected for a callback will be notified after their audition.
-DETAILS-
$250 gas stipends will be provided to each actor. Rehearsals will be scheduled around actors availability and take place 2-3 times a week (M/W evenings, + Sundays evenings as needed) in Escondido from 6:30pm - 9:30pm beginning the week of December 6, 2024.
